Lita Rossana Ford (also known as Lita Ford) is a British born American guitarist who was the role of lead singer in The Runaways a female hard rock group in the 1970s. They gained attention for their provocative lyrics and punkish design. Although the band did not make much progress in America, they were hugely popular internationally. It was particularly true in Japan. After the band split in 1979 Ford embarked upon a successful solo career in the world of heavy metal. After taking lessons in singing, she debuted her own solo album, called 'Out for Blood'. This was followed by the release of 'Dancin' On The Edge'. Ford was absent from the scene for some time after both albums failed to be a huge success. The singer returned in 1988 with her wildly successful album 'Lita which was released in 1988. Kiss Me Deadly was a huge hit as was the ballad Close My Eyes Forever and Kiss Me Deadly. However, her fame was brief, and she went under the radar for several years. She re-emerged with the release of 'Black in 1995, and then 'Wicked Wonderland' nearly 15 years after. 2016 saw the release of her most recent studio album "Time Capsule". Guitar Player Magazine has awarded her The Certified Guitar Legend Award.
